NORFOLK, Virginia – Martin Thomas, George Neskis, and Martin Thomas, Jr. of The Decker Law Firm in Norfolk were named as Legal Elites by their peers in the Virginia Bar Association in the field of Criminal Law and Civil Litigation.
Virginia Business partners with the Virginia Bar Association each year to accept nominations for the Legal Elite. Voting is open to any licensed Virginia lawyer, and electronic ballots are emailed each June to nearly 14,000 lawyers throughout the Commonwealth. An online ballot is also available on the magazine’s website during the six-week voting period. Martin Thomas is the president and managing attorney for Decker, Cardon, Thomas, Weintraub & Neskis, P.C. He concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury, criminal law and traffic law. Martin also represents many corporations and businesses, and is a recognized torts attorney. He handles multi-million-dollar personal injury cases throughout Virginia involving serious injuries.
George Neskis is a prominent area lawyer who regularly represents clients that have been charged with criminal and traffic offenses including, driving while intoxicated (DWI) and driving under the influence (DUI), as well as preliminary hearings for felony charges. Recently, Neskis represented a local sailor, who was found to be not guilty of a 2nd degree murder charge.
Martin Thomas, Jr. focuses his practice of law in the areas of personal injury, criminal law, traffic, contract law and civil litigation. In 2009, Martin Thomas, Jr. began teaching a class, “Life Beyond the Felony: How to Restore Your Rights,” to the students in the Fresh Start Program at TCC in Portsmouth. He currently teaches the class monthly at the Goodwill Employment Center in Portsmouth, and as a part of the re-entry program at Chesapeake City Jail.
